Ben Chilwell shares first Crystal Palace training ground update

Crystal Palace defender Ben Chilwell took to social media to share his first training ground update after joining on loan from Chelsea.

The 28-year-old joined the South London side on loan for the rest of the season having failed to make a single Premier League appearance under Enzo Maresca.

Chillwell, alongside the likes of Raheem Sterling and Carney Chukwuemeka, was a member the Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ in the summer transfer window but was unable to secure a move away.

The left-back took to social media to send a message to the fans after finally making it out of purgatory at Chelsea, with Jude Bellingham and Reece James having their say on the move.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, transfer guru Mick Brown believes Crystal Palace have secured a deal for “one of England’s best left-backs”.

Chilwell made just one appearance for Maresca’s side this season, coming on at half-time in their 5-0 League Cup win over Barrow earlier in the season.

The defender took to Instagram to share a training ground update from his first session at his new club, clearly raring to get going.

Football Insider revealed (February 4) that Palace will face an uphill battle in the summer to keep hold of captain Marc Guehi with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham all interested.

Tottenham launched a late-window, £70million bid for the Palace skipper as a potential solution to their defensive injury crisis – but saw the offer rejected.
