Ben Godfrey sends message to Ipswich fans after confirmed news
Ben Godfrey has taken to social media to send a message to the Ipswich fans after completing his loan move to the club.
The 26-year-old joined Kieran McKenna’s side on a six-month loan from Serie A side Atalanta, having joined the Italian side from Everton in the summer.
Godfrey has failed to make an impression at Atalanta, starting none of his five appearances across all competitions and failing to provide a goal contribution in just 93 minutes of action.
Speaking to the club’s in-house media team, Godfrey said: “I have really enjoyed speaking to the Manager (Kieran McKenna) and to have the opportunity to work under him now is something I’m very excited about.”
Ben Godfrey signs for Ipswich Town as they continue to fight against relegation
Ipswich are on the up after an impressive first home win of the season over Chelsea and a 2-2 draw with Fulham in their last two Premier League games.
Godfrey attended Ipswich’s draw at Craven Cottage on Sunday (January 5), with the East Anglian side now sitting in 18th, level on points with Wolves in 17th on 16 from their 20 games.
The centre-back is a fully fledged England international having earned two caps for England in 2021 while at Everton.
Godfrey appears to be excited about the challenge at hand, taking to Instagram to say: “Buzzin to be joining Ipswich Town on loan for the rest of the season.. excited for the new chapter and challenge. Let’s go. Thanks as always.”

Ipswich will host League One side Bristol Rovers in their first FA Cup game of the season on Sunday (January 12) as they seek to continue their good momentum.
McKenna’s side will then face a struggling Brighton side, know a win could see them leave the relegation zone for the first time this season.
In other news, Man City could land instant ‘£30m’ profit on Liam Delap – Stefan Borson.
