'Difficult to find' - Benitez drools over Newcastle player, gives him ranking out of 10

By Richard Parks
Rafael Benitez has delivered a ringing endorsement of Newcastle United player Paul Dummett and claimed he has something virtually unique in the modern game – “a left foot”.
The United boss waxed lyrical about the left-back as he previewed his team’s trip to in-form Bournemouth for Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Dummett, 26, recently penned a fresh contract that will keep him at Newcastle until the summer of 2022.
Benitez is in no doubt about the value of the Wales international, who has re-established himself in the first team after recovering from a hamstring tear that sidelined him for the first half of the season.
“It’s important to have players you can trust,” said Benitez, as quoted by the official Newcastle Twitter account on Friday. “When you talk about Paul, sometimes he will be a nine out of ten. Sometimes a six. Always between those.
“He is a clever player. He has something that is difficult to find these days – a left foot! It is difficult to find a full-back with a left foot who understands the game. He loves the club, loves the city. It is important to keep him with us.”

Football Insider verdict:
When Rafa says you’re something special, fans sit up and take notice. The highly respected Toon boss has bigged up Dummett in a manner afforded to few, as he is not a man who dishes out praise too easily. The left-back has been solid as a rock for Newcastle since returning to the team and will be a key man in the club’s bid to avoid relegation in the next few months. With Benitez’s praise ringing in his ears, he should feel a million dollars when he next takes to the field.
In other Newcastle United news, a top flight giant has readied an £18million bid for one of the club’s top stars.
