Rafa Benitez has revealed Newcastle duo Jesus Gamez and Rolando Aarons are to miss the clash against Nottingham Forest.
The senior duo are both nursing long-term injuries and are likely to remain on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.
Speaking ahead of the Toon’s clash against Nottingham Forest, Benitez revealed that both players were to miss out but others were returning from injury.
“We have some players coming back,” Benitez said, as quoted by Newcastle’s official Twitter account.
“Jesus Gamez and Ronaldo Aarons are the only injuries.”

Academy product Aarons has been missing since his birthday back on November 16, after suffering a cruciate ligament injury that was supposedly set to rule him out for the rest of the season.
But after a successful operation in Italy, Aarons could bet set for an earlier return than expected to Benitez’s side.
Like Aarons, Gamez is still recovering on the sidelines after a serious collarbone during the 1-0 loss to Blackburn towards the end of November in what was just his third Magpies appearance.
The former Atletico Madrid defender had been out injured with an achilles problem beforehand, limiting him to outings against Brighton and Cheltenham.
The Champions League runner-up will miss the game against Forest but could be in line for a return in January as he looks to put his injury demons behind him.
Newcastle will be looking to get back on track after a 1-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday with all three points against Philippe Montanier’s struggling Forest on Friday.
Now in second, a win against Forest could see the Toon leapfrog league leaders Brighton if the Seagulls fail to beat Cardiff.
