Benitez tipped to lure ‘brilliant’ Ramsey to Everton after reliable outlet’s update – pundit
Kevin Phillips has claimed Rafa Benitez can “work his magic” by handing Aaron Ramsey a career lifeline at Everton.
The former Sunderland striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 30-year-old would be a “brilliant addition” for the Toffees.
As per Calciomercato (8 December), Everton have made initial contact with Ramsey’s entourage regarding a potential January move.

The report also claims Juventus are open to terminating the Welshman’s contract to allow the midfielder to leave the club for nothing in the winter window.
Phillips cited Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend as Benitez’s success stories this season.
“He’s a quality player, there’s no doubting that,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“On his day he can be fantastic. The pressure is on for Rafa Benitez. He’s already shown with the players he’s brought in that he’s got a habit of working his magic.
He’s great at reviving players’ careers and getting the best out of them. We’ve obviously seen that with Townsend and Gray.
“I can see Ramsey coming in to Everton and Benitez getting the very best out of him. He’s that attacking midfielder who can score and create goals. Everton could do with just that, he’d be a brilliant addition.”
Ramsey has suffered a number of fitness and injury problems this term.
He has managed to play 98 minutes of Serie A football for Juventus.

Everton have struggled for form this season. They have won just a third of their league games and sit 12th in the table.
The Toffees face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday (12 December).
