'Best on the planet' - Exclusive: Mills makes huge Leeds January transfer claim

Danny Mills has tipped Marcelo Bielsa to use the best scouting network “on the planet” to secure a new Leeds United forward in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-United and England defender believes the Argentine will be working forensically behind the scenes to strengthen the squad in January.

Mills explained how a new forward will be top of Bielsa’s shopping list before the window opens in a fortnight’s time.

Leeds are vulnerable to losing on-loan Eddie Nketiah, as Arsenal can take advantage of a mid-season recall clause to take him back to London.

“If Nketiah goes, you’re a little bit light up front and goals are the most important things as
they win you football games,” Mills told Football Insider.

“If Leeds can get a back-up striker, assuming Nketiah goes, which I think he will, they need
someone to put the pressure on Bamford, just to change it up…that would be absolutely vital.

“There will be lots of players out there, let’s be honest, Bielsa’s scouting network is probably the best on the planet as he knows every detail of every player.

“He’s probably watched more football in the last week then I have all season. We know how intense he is,so if there’s anyone out there who can fit in his model, he’ll know about them.”

Nketiah has not started a single league match for Leeds this season, and his parent club are weighing up a recall.

His potential departure would leave Championship ever-present Patrick Bamford as the only orthodox senior centre-forward at Elland Road.
