Betting bombshell: Odds on that Tottenham senior player will quit this summer for top-four rivals
By Harry Sykes
Manchester City have been installed odds-on favourites to sign Kyle Walker from Tottenham this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have lowered the price on Pep Guardiola’s team landing the Spurs right-back to 5/6 in a betting sensation that will makes fans of the London clubs nervous.
The betting company now regard it as equally likely that Walker will join City as staying at Tottenham, with both possibilities priced at 5/6.
An illustration of how much the cash-rich Manchester club are dominating the market for the long-time Spurs player is that the club regarded as the next most likely to sign him before the transfer window closes on 3 September, Manchester United, are 20/1, ahead of Chelsea at 25/1.
Such a dramatic change in the betting in favour of top-four rivals City in recent days suggests that there has been a series of significant bets on the possibility of Walker quitting for Etihad Stadium.

The bombshell comes just 24 hours after Walker was axed from the Spurs team for their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Kieran Trippier was given the nod to start at right wing-back ahead of Walker, just two days after the England international was named by his peers in the PFA Premier League team of the season.
It was the third time in five matches that Trippier had been selected over the man who is also the regular England right-back.
Walker played the last 22 minutes at Wembley as Tottenham suffered a 4-2 defeat that ended their hopes of a league and cup double.
