Betting latest: Everton favourites to sign reported £110,00-a-week PL powerhouse in Jan

Everton have been installed as favourites to sign West Ham forward Andy Carroll in January, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

SkyBet have the Toffees priced at 8/1 to complete a January swoop for Carroll, 28, while Newcastle are second favourites at 12/1 to ensure the nine-times England international makes a stunning return to St. James’ Park.

The Sun reported in October that Everton were willing to splash £20million on signing Carroll next month as they look to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku after he left for Manchester United in the summer.

It is understood that Carroll is earning £110,000-a-week at the London Stadium and that West Ham would be willing to cash in on him if a good offer is made as he is about to enter the final 18 months of his contract.

The former Liverpool striker has made nine appearances across all competitions this season but is yet to find the back of the net in what has been a frustrating campaign for the Hammers.

West Ham manager David Moyes has left the powerhouse striker, who is known for his commanding physical presence and aerial ability, out of his last two squads in Premier League defeats to Everton and Manchester City.
