Betting update: Everton installed strong favourites to sign 24-year-old, Newcastle in running
By Will Butcher
Everton are strong favourites to sign West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini in the summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Ladbrokes have now priced the 24-year-old at just 5/4 to join Ronald Koeman’s Merseyside giants in the summer, as he continues to shine in a disappointing Hammers side this season.
Newcastle are also credited with a price for the former River Plate star, with the Magpies 4/1 to sign West Ham’s number 10 while Tottenham are at 8/1 to take Lanzini across London.
Lanzini has scored eight goals and laid on a further two assists, as he proves to be a rare shining light in a dismal Hammers campaign that has seen them lose 17 of their 37 league games.

Everton could be tempted to enter the transfer market for Lanzini, with the future of England international Ross Barkley still up in the air.
The Mirror reported that Barkley has been given a week to decide if he wants to remain at Goodison Park, and must sign a new contract if he is willing to do so.
Making his 72nd West Ham appearance in the 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, Lanzini has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists for Slaven Bilic’s side.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton should seriously consider a move for Lanzini. Able to play anywhere in attacking midfield, Lanzini has shone for the Hammers and proved to find the back of the net or provide a creative spark even though Bilic’s London side have been limited in their attacking exploits this term. Teaming up with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Barkley and Yannick Bolasie, Lanzini would be able to orchestrate attacking proceedings in a side that have more attacking prowess about them than his current side. Koeman must have a way of incorporating all his attacking midfield stars, though, and it could be that he’s waiting to see what happens with Barkley before deciding to pounce.
