Betting update: Man United powerhouse among next most likely signings for West Ham

Ladbrokes have created a market dedicated to David Moyes signing players for West Ham in January that he has previously worked with, and have priced Sunderland flop Jack Rodwell as the favourite, just ahead of Man United’s powerhouse Marouane Fellaini.

Ladbrokes created the unique betting opportunity based on the fact Moyes has a history of signing players he personally knows.

Rodwell who played for Moyes last season at Sunderland, has struggled to even feature for the Black Cats in the Championship this season, making only two league appearances so far.

The 26-year-old moved to Sunderland for £10million in 2014 and has only managed to make 76 appearances in that time, in which he scored a dismal nine goals and grabbed three assists.

However, despite this, Ladbrokes believe he is the most likely to be signed and he is the 5/2 favourite, just slightly ahead of his former teammate Victor Anichebe who is priced at 3/1.

Ladbrokes have also priced Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jagielka, Steven Pienaar and Everton favourite Tim Cahill for a potential January move to the Hammers.

The bookies also jokingly added Tony Hibbert to the betting, at 250/1, in case the 36-year-old opts to come out of retirement to help his old boss.

Moyes took over West Ham in November, succeeding Slaven Bilic, and out of his first two games in charge; he has gained one point after drawing with Leicester City on Friday.

In other West Ham news, Moyes has given this advice to Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth.
