'Boring', 'Simple' - Rangers fans react to leaked images of new 2017/18 third kit

By James Black

Rangers new 2017/18 third kit appears to have leaked online a few days before it’s launched – and it has divided opinion among Gers fans on Twitter.

The black and blue shirt is doing the rounds on Twitter and opinions range from one extreme to another as the Gers support look to get their hands on the latest piece of merchandise from the club.

Fans have been boycotting club stock in recent years over the one-sided retail deal with Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct and have only resumed ploughing their cash into the club’s shop after a re-negotiated deal was agreed.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The previous Sports Direct deal saw the club make a pittance from each sale leading fans to formally boycott the retailer – with the club’s approval – as the retailer and club were involved in countless legal battles following a fued between Ashley and Ibrox chairman Dave King.

Rangers have been hamstrung over the last few seasons because of the kit deal with Sports Direct, but with that torn up, fans can now buy merchandise safe in the knowledge that Pedro Caixinha will see the benefit.

Fans stripped the club shop bare after it was announced a new deal had been agreed as they rushed to buy anything that had the club’s name on it – including rubber ducks in their thousands.

In latest Rangers news, fans reacted to Kenny Miller playing for the Under-20’s against Brentford B.
