Brendan Rodgers has overcome Celtic ‘fear’ after confirmed news – pundit

Brendan Rodgers is ready to handle “big egos” at Celtic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said Rodgers won’t “fear” handling the new players in the Parkhead dressing room.

On Monday (19 June), the Celts confirmed the appointment of the 50-year-old as their new manager.

He replaces Ange Postecoglou at the helm who left Scotland for the top job at Tottenham after two years at the Scottish champions.

Rodgers put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Glasgow giants as they prepare to defend a treble winning domestic campaign and have another crack at the Champions League.

Anthony Ralston, Callum McGregor and James Forrest are some of the names that started the season last time Rodgers was in charge of the Hoops but many players have come and gone since then and there will be lots of unfamiliar faces greeting the new boss.

When asked how the players that haven’t been managed under the Northern Irishman will respond to the new boss, Hutton told Football Insider:I think they will respond well.

Everybody respects the manager, it does not matter who it is.

He has got a real good CV, he knows the club, has been down in England, managed big players, big egos as well. It is nothing that Brendan Rodgers will fear.

Players looking up to him will know that he is a high calibre manager so all the players will want to impress him as well.”

In other news, Swansea City and Huddersfield Town set sights on ex-Celtic man.
