Brentford work to sign Braga forward before Chelsea owners as release clause emerges
Brentford are pushing on to bring in a highly-rated Braga attacker ahead of Chelsea’s owners before the close of the transfer window.
After a poor opening game of the season in a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, the Bees have bounced back with two wins in two.
Keith Andrews’ side won 2-0 in the EFL Cup (26 August) as new Bournemouth signing Ben Doak struggled on his debut against Brentford.
Uncertainty remains over talisman Yoane Wissa, yet Igor Thiago and new arrival from Bournemouth Dango Ouattara have impressed in the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign.
Seeking to replace the Congolese striker should he leave the club this summer, the west London side are working on deals to bring in another forward before the window shuts.

Brentford interested in BlueCo target Roger Fernandes
According to a report by The Daily Mail (26 August), the Bees are “working on a number of forward options” which include Braga speedster Roger Fernandes.
The Portuguese Under-21 is also a target for Chelsea and Strasbourg owners BlueCo who are eager to bring the talented youngster to one of their clubs.
The 19-year-old reportedly has a “release clause around £35million”, which Brentford can most certainly afford following huge sales to Bryan Mbeumo, amongst other departures.
Arrival of Dango Ouattara and interest in Roger Fernandes suggests Brentford preparing for Yoane Wissa exit
Football Insider verdict
Following the signing of Ouattara and the possibility of signing Fernandes or even Maximilian Beier from Borussia Dortmund, it appears the Bees are ramping up their transfer activity late on in the window.
This suggests that the west London outfit are now more open to the prospect of letting their star striker leave this summer.
Considering the Congolese has just one-year left on his contract, it makes complete sense to let the number 11 go for a decent sum of money.

With Thiago down the middle and support from Kevin Schade, Mikkel Damsgaard and the aforementioned Burkinabe, the Bees have a bit more sting in their attack it seems.
Moreover, should they sell Wissa for a high price, they could reinvest this amount in the January transfer window to further bolster their squad.
After being tipped as a favourite for the drop, perhaps Andrews’ resolve is demonstrating why you should never write off the red-and-white of Brentford too early.
