Alan Hutton says that Rangers have been “brilliant” with their recent transfer business as they launch a move to sign Stoke City’s Tyreese Campbell.

The former Gers defender and boyhood fan at Ibrox, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the scouting team have sourced some real bargains recently with the likes of Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, the Gers have tabled the Potters striker a contract offer in a bid to beat their rivals to his capture, with the likes of Celtic, Wolves and Bournemouth all in the hunt for the 20-year-old.

With Rangers taking advantage of the cross-border development fee to snap up Aribo last summer, Hutton says they could pull off another amazing bit of business this year.

Asked about the Ibrox transfer team’s ability to sniff out a bargain, Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s brilliant, it’s a part of the market they’re taking advantage of, if another English club were to try and get him it would probably cost them a couple of million.

“For Rangers, they’ve been very shrewd to find these players who are coming up and doing unbelievably well. He’s a boy that will probably look at the likes of Aribo, how well he’s done and fancy a shot at that.

“Playing football, it’ll be difficult to break in, the Rangers front line is very strong so he’ll have to work hard to get in but I think he would see it as a great opportunity to play in front of 50,000 and in Europe.”

Campbell has 31 appearances under his belt for Stoke’s senior side since coming through the youth ranks, scoring six goals to date.

The former Manchester City youngster has played 21 times across all competitions this season, his four goals all coming in the Championship.

In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that a forward at the club has agreed personal terms with new team as medical underway.
