'How Leeds have grown' - Brown reacts as Bielsa wants PL man as first signing if they go up

Michael Brown has claimed Jack Harrison will be very keen to sign permanently for Leeds United if they are in the Premier League next season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-United midfielder is in no doubt that the winger, who is on a second consecutive season-long loan from Man City, would be a shrewd recruit.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Marcelo Bielsa wants to make Harrison the first Leeds signing this summer if they go up.

United’s promotion dream is currently on hold after the Football League postponed all matches until at least 4 April.

Asked by Football Insider about the potential of Leeds signing Harrison, Brown said: “Well, it all comes down to numbers. I’m sure he’s enjoying football, he stands out.

“How big Leeds United is, how Leeds have grown and how the force is getting even better, it’s certainly a club he’ll want to go and play in the Premier League for.

“He’ll be excited to try and get promotion, try and get to the Premier League and I’m sure Leeds United will be looking to get that type of player, when someone’s played week in, week out for you and played well.

“These are really great problems for Leeds United, who signs, who what, who’s the next target, but only if we get to the Premier League.”

At Leeds, Harrison has remarkably started all 37 of their Championship games this season, scoring five goals as well as supplying seven assists.

The left-winger’s latest contribution came with his brilliant cross to Luke Ayling that culminated in the goal-of-the-season contender in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, a very significant update on the future of Jean-Kevin Augustin can be revealed.
