Aston Villa travel to promotion-chasing Huddersfield on Tuesday night and will be expecting a very difficult test.
The Midlands giants have won their last three consecutive games to climb up to 13th in the Championship table, putting all fears of a relegation battle to bed.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield are third in the league and are still keen on securing an automatic promotion this season.
Football Insider looks at three players that Steve Bruce will fear ahead of facing the Yorkshire club.
Huddersfield loanee Elias Kachunga has been one of the club’s standout performers this season and is a great attacking threat. The winger has been influential following his loan move form German club FC Ingolstadt and proved to be very dangerous in the Championship. He has made 37 appearances this season across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and supplying four assists. He has become a huge favourite with fans and has proved clinical in front of goal, something Bruce will be hoping his side can nullify.
Aaron Mooy is another player on loan at Huddersfield and he has been a huge success. The central midfielder had dictated possession for his side and is set to be a big test for Villa’s Mile Jedinak. He is currently on loan from Manchester City and it’s believed he will be back in the Premier League in some form next season. Mooy has managed to contribute going forward for Huddersfield and has shown his eye for goal. The midfielder has made 36 appearances this season across all competitions, scoring three goals and supplying seven assists. Villa will be hoping they can limit Mooy’s influence as he can grab the game by the scruff of the neck when on form.
Villa will surely go a long way to stopping the threat of Huddersfield if they can keep their forward Nahki Wells quiet during the match. The 26-year-old leads the line for his side and is their recognised central striker, with the likes of Kachunga, Isaiah Brown and Rajiv van La Parra supporting from behind. Wells has managed nine goals in 33 appearances this season across all competitions and is desperate for the opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League. The forward has worked his way up the footballing ladder and is now helping guide Huddersfield to at very least a play-off spot. He has proved he can be ruthless in front of goal and Bruce will be keen to halt his impact.
In other Aston Villa news, the club’s supporters have urged Bruce to start their 22-year-old against Huddersfield.
