Bruno Guimaraes expected to quit Newcastle as agent talk starts to gain weight
Bruno Guimaraes could be a perfect fit for Man United as the Brazilian could seek a move away from Newcastle United.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who is tipping Guimaraes to leave St James’ Park in the summer.
Man United will lose Casemiro at the end of the season, with the club scouting the market for replacements.
Guimaraes has played a key role at Newcastle since joining Eddie Howe’s side in 2022, and the Brazilian was appointed team captain in 2024.
No Champions League football on Tyneside next season could have an effect on Newcastle’s summer transfer business, with fellow midfielder Sandro Tonali having also previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Guimaraes joining Man United is currently “agent talk.”
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the 28-year-old is the player Man United need in their midfield.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s agent talk at the moment, but certainly one part of the media has believed the agent that he’s in talks with Man United.
“I do think he suits Man United. I think that would be one of the replacements that they’ve got that they need. And I think that he would be a good fit.
“And I do expect him to go as well. So this makes it even more of a rebuild for Newcastle. And certainly, I think United, I think he’d fit very well. He’s the right age, the right type for Man United.”
Guimaraes could remain at Newcastle amid Sandro Tonali latest
Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Tonali’s agent is pushing for the midfielder to join Man United.
Tonali moving to Old Trafford could mean Guimaraes remains at Newcastle, with Howe reluctant to let both players leave in the same transfer window.
Borson believes Tonali is more likely to leave the Magpies in the summer than Guimaraes, who turns 29 later this year.
