The post was met with a wave of reactions from players and former stars, including club legend Alan Shearer, who was spotted in the stands during the final. Shearer showed his appreciation by commenting “Skipper” alongside black and white heart emojis.
Lewis Hall has been ruled out for the season but it didn’t stop him from also reacting to the post, as did Joe Willock and Sven Botman, highlighting the togetherness within Howe’s squad.
Guimaraes has been a key figure for Newcastle since his arrival, but this season, in particular, he has stepped up, making 37 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing eight assists across 3,006 minutes of action.
