Bruno Guimaraes sends ‘difficult’ message after key Newcastle development
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes took to social media to celebrate their 2-0 League Cup semi-final win over Arsenal on Wednesday (February 5).
The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Newcastle earned their place in the League Cup final with a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal.
Right winger Jacob Murphy was in the right place at the right time to open the scoring, latching on to Alexander Isak’s shot that bounced off the post to score into an open net.
Anthony Gordon doubled their lead in the 52nd minute, capitalising on David Raya’s dismal attempt to play out from the back and send his side to Wembley.

The central midfielder has been key for Newcastle this season, starting 26 of his 30 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing eight assists in his 2469 minutes of action.
Newcastle will now play in their second League Cup final in three years as they search for their first piece of silverware of the Eddie Howe era.
Guimaraes took to Instagram to send a message to the fans after the win, saying: “I loved this! When St. James’ Park is like this, it’s very difficult to beat us. Thank you for your support, NUFC fans. We’re going to Wembley! Thank you, God, for everything.”

Tottenham launched a late-window, £70million bid for the Palace skipper as a potential solution to their defensive injury crisis but their offer was ultimately rejected.
