
Bruno Guimaraes sends message to Alexander Isak after remarkable development
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes has taken to social media to congratulate teammate Alexander Isak on his performance in their 3-0 Premier League win over Wolves on Wednesday (January 15).
Isak, 25, opened the scoring for the home side in the 34th minute after a heavy deflection from a shot just outside the box caught Jose Sa completely by surprise.
The striker is in the form of his life, scoring a remarkable 12 goals in his last ten games across all competitions for Eddie Howe’s side.
Wolves defenders were left stranded after Guimaraes’, 27, pass to Isak for his second goal found the Sweden international, allowing him to cooly slot past Sa once again.
Fellow in-form Newcastle ace Anthony Gordon rounded off the scoring in the 74th minute, sending Howe’s side into the top four.

The central midfielder has been key for Newcastle so far this season, starting 22 of his 26 games across all competitions, scoring one goal, and providing eight assists in his 2123 minutes of action.
Isak is showing no signs of letting up, starting all 23 of his games across all competitions, scoring 17 goals, and providing five assists in his 1842 minutes of action.
Guimaraes took to Instagram to celebrate the win, saying: “Great victory at home! Very happy with the team’s performance. You deserve it for the player and person you are, Alexander Isak. We keep pushing for more. See you on Saturday, Geordies.”

Newcastle have now won their last nine games across all competitions as they march towards Champions League qualification.
Howe’s side will host fellow hopefuls Bournemouth on Saturday (January 18) in what could prove to be a crucial game for both side’s European ambitions.
