Bruno Guimaraes sends third-word return hint ahead of Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
Bruno Guimaraes could make a long-awaited return to the Newcastle United squad ahead of a Premier League clash against Bournemouth.
The 28-year-old has been sidelined since February, being forced off in the final stages against Tottenham, and the Magpies have been without their star midfielder ever since.
Eddie Howe has just welcomed Lewis Miley back to the lineup, but with Joelinton suspended for their upcoming fixture, the manager will be desperate for more figures in the centre of midfield.
Howe remains without several key names, but ahead of welcoming the Cherries to St James’ Park on Saturday, 18 April, the under-pressure boss could have Guimaraes back in contention.

The Brazilian has been key to Newcastle’s success over the last five seasons, and with nine goals and six assists in all competitions this term, there are few in the squad who offer what he can.
Taking to Instagram stories (17 April), just hours before the Magpies kick off against Bournemouth, he shared images of himself returning to training, simply captioned: “Still I rise,” with a flexed muscle emoji.
While it isn’t much, this post mixed with Howe’s quotes about the player “pushing really hard” to be in contention, supporters will have every hope that he features against the Cherries.

No player at St James’ Park has more Premier League goal contributions than the 28-year-old, with Nick Woltemade on 10 and Anthony Gordon on eight, and the Magpies are on a three-game losing streak.
Newcastle Uniteed star could be in his final season at St James’ Park
Ever since his arrival at St James’ Park, Guimaraes has been strongly linked with several Premier League giants, with European clubs also keeping tabs on his situation.
Man United could sign Guimaraes, Keith Wyness told Football Insider, while Man City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all been mentioned in the race for his signature this summer.
It could get even worse for Howe, who is under crushing pressure this season, with Gordon and Sandro Tonali also expected to depart the North East for bigger clubs.
However, the full focus right now will be on finishing the campaign on a strong note, and that is only likely to happen if Guimaraes returns to the fold for the remaining games.
