Bryan Robson has raved about Tottenham ace Dele Alli and stated that he can become a “top class player” in the near future.
Midfielder Alli has become a regular and important player for both club and country in recent seasons since his emergence from League One.
The 20-year-old moved to White Hart Lane during the summer of 2015, when Mauricio Pochettino purchased the teenager from MK Dons.
He went on to excel in his debut season in the Premier League, winning an England call-up and being named the PFA Young Player of the Year.
England and Manchester United legend Robson delivered this verdict on Alli and what he can produce for the national side.
“He’s a great player, there’s no getting away from that – he can score goals, he’s got great energy levels, very good technical ability,” Robson told Omnisport, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
“He can be a big part for England. You always need top-class players to do well in any competition, so hopefully, he’ll come through and be a top-class player for England.
“If you get that then you’ve got a chance of doing well in competitions.”
Since the previous campaign, Alli has stepped up his performances to another level, in particular, his goal scoring form.
Over the course of the season, the England international has played 39 games in all competitions for Spurs, scoring 17 goals and supplying eight assists.
Furthermore, he has found the back of the net on 14 occasions in the Premier League, impressive numbers given the fact that he plays in the middle of the park.
For his national side, Alli has represented the Three Lions on 16 occasions, scoring two goals and supplying the same number of assists during that period.
Upon his return from the international break, he will be looking to help Spurs maintain their top-four status in the Premier League.
In other Tottenham news, Robbie Savage has laughed at the suggestion that this Spur ace is better than senior Chelsea player.
