Bukayo Saka and William Saliba respond to Kai Havertz’s passionate Arsenal message

Kai Havertz had a heartfelt message to the Arsenal supporters after his return to the side over the weekend.

Arsenal secured their place in next season’s Champions League with a narrow but vital 1-0 win over Newcastle.

Declan Rice sealed the three points with a stunning strike from outside the area, continuing his impressive season in North London.

The match wasn’t without controversy, as former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett told Football Insider that both Arsenal and Newcastle are expected to be charged by the FA following a late-game altercation involving several players.

Still, the bigger story for many Arsenal fans was the return of Havertz, who stepped back onto the pitch for the first time since his injury in February and shared an emotional message with the supporters afterwards.

Kai Havertz makes Arsenal return after three-month lay-off

After a three-month absence with a hamstring injury, Havertz made his return to the pitch during Arsenal’s win, coming on in the second half for Bukayo Saka.

Following the final whistle, the German midfielder shared a heartfelt message with fans:“Thank you for all the support the past few months and over the season. Felt good to be back out there today!”

The post drew reactions from several teammates, with Saka, William Saliba and Declan Rice all showing their support by liking the message.

Before his injury, the German had become a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side, scoring 15 goals across all competitions. He made 35 appearances this season, starting 21 Premier League matches and contributing five assists.

His absence left the side without a recognised striker for much of the run-in, with Mikel Merino even deployed as an emergency option up front.

Some Arsenal fans had gone as far as declaring the season “over” after Havertz’s injury, highlighting just how central he has become to Arteta’s plans despite the team’s attacking challenges.

Arsenal given green light for Viktor Gyokeres signing

Despite Havertz’s return, the Gunners are still expected to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Football Insider revealed that Arsenal have been given the green light to sign Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres, with both parties open to a potential deal.

New sporting director Andrea Berta is a long-time admirer of the Swedish striker, and with Sporting willing to accept a fee below his £85 million release clause, the path could be clear for Arsenal to bring him to the Emirates.
