Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice react to injury update from Arsenal’s Kai Havertz
Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice have reacted to Arsenal teammate Kai Havertz on social media after a major injury update.
Havertz suffered a torn hamstring during Arsenal’s warm-weather camp in Dubai and underwent surgery in February.
The injury coincided with both Saka and Gabriel Jesus suffering injury setbacks of their own, which took its toll on the Gunners’ offensive potency.
Arsenal have scored just 66 goals in the Premier League this season, a stark contrast to last year when the North London side found the back of the net 91 times.
With their goal-scoring woes leading to a third consecutive second-placed finish, the Gunners look set to prioritise finding a striker in the coming transfer window.

Kai Havertz back in training with Arsenal
Ahead of their match against Newcastle on Sunday (18 May), Havertz shared a plethora of photos on Instagram, captioned: “It’s been 15 weeks filled with a lot of fun, pain and love. Feels so good to be back with the team!”
The German’s return will be greeted warmly by Arsenal fans, as the team has struggled in his absence.
The post was liked by Saka and Rice, with both star men showing support for the former Chelsea forward.
Kai Havertz’s return from injury unlikely to change summer transfer plans
Football Insider Verdict
Whilst Havertz’s return to fitness will be a welcome sight for those at Arsenal, it is unlikely to have an impact on the club’s transfer plans.
The German forward has never been a consistent goal-getter, and although his link-up play is top draw, the Gunners are in need of a striker who can find the back of the net more often.
Pete O’Rourke revealed exclusively to Football Insider that Arsenal have made Viktor Gyokeres their top striker target this summer.

The Swedish forward has been in lethal form since joining Sporting CP from Coventry, finding the back of the net 38 times in 32 games, whilst also providing seven assists.
There are some doubts around Gyokeres’ ability to translate his goals in Portugal into a top-five league, but a hat-trick against Man City in the Champions League in November highlighted his ability to do it against the best of the best.
