Bukayo Saka reveals what Thierry Henry said to him before Arsenal’s win over West Ham
Thierry Henry sent a warning message to Bukayo Saka before Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham.
The Gunners went top of the table with their win over the newly-appointed Nuno Espirito Santo, although there will be concerns about Martin Odegaard’s fitness after the captain was forced off injured.
In his absence, Declan Rice scored against his former side before Saka sealed the win at the Emirates on Saturday, 4 October, coolly slotting a penalty past Alphonse Areola.
The English winger will have been especially pleased after receiving a word of warning from one of the club’s greatest ever players.

Thierry Henry reminded Bukayo Saka about Arsenal’s struggles vs West Ham
Arsenal have been dominant this season and suffered their only loss at the hands of Liverpool when the two sides met on 31 August.
West Ham are relegation contenders and have already moved on to their second manager of the season after parting ways with Graham Potter.
However, the Hammers have actually won their previous two games against the Gunners at the Emirates in February of this year and in December 2023.
Sky Sports journalist Sam Dean said on X that Saka had revealed he had received a message from Henry the morning of the game, reminding him of that fact.
That message seemed to spur on the 24-year-old as he not only found the back of the net, but also created two chances.
Saka matches Henry’s scoring record for Arsenal
Saka endured a frustrating 2024-25 campaign after suffering a hamstring injury that ultimately cost Arsenal any chance of ending their two-decade pursuit of a Premier League title.
However, the England international has been slowly finding his form this season, scoring three times in all competitions.
The latest of those goals put Saka in Henry’s company, as the young winger became only the second Arsenal player to score on his 200th Premier League appearance for the North London side, Squawka revealed on X.
Supporters of Mikel Arteta‘s side will be hoping that their star man can continue to fire the Gunners to victory, especially as it appears that Odegaard will be heading back to the treatment table following his latest injury.
