Butland and Diomande react to Raskin ‘getting ready’ as Rangers exit looms
Nico Raskin caught the attention of his Rangers teammates as speculation grows around the star midfielder’s future at Ibrox.
Supporters are incredibly excited for the summer transfer window now that Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises‘ takeover has been announced, with the new owners expected to bring new funds to the club.
Despite that, multiple current players are being linked with exits, potentially following the likes of Ianis Hagi and Leon Balogun out the exit doors after the expiration of their contracts.
Mick Brown told Football Insider as recently as last month that several Premier League clubs are after Raskin’s signature this summer, having impressed during quite a difficult campaign for the Gers.
The midfielder notched five goals and 11 assists in 48 games, completely changing the style of his game, and even doing enough to earn his international debut with Belgium.

Taking to Instagram (4 June), Raskin wrote: “Getting ready,” with the midfielder away with the Belgium national team once again, gaining likes from several club teammates at Ibrox.
Dujon Sterling, Mohamed Diomande, Jack Butland, and Danilo all liked the post, joined by Leeds United‘s Largie Ramazani and PSV Eindhoven’s former Gers loan star Malik Tillman.
Cavenagh and 49ers to make a big splash at Rangers
Football Insider verdict
The new owners have an incredible amount of work to get through over the next few weeks in order to get the club and squad ready for the 2025/26 campaign.
Catching up to Old Firm rivals Celtic on and off the pitch will be one of the biggest ambitions for the Light Blues, at least it always is for the supporters, and that can finally be achieved with new investment.
The Gers may lose a few key players over the course of the summer, however, as Football Insider understood in March that Leeds United were well-placed to sign Raskin.

Russell Martin has been chosen as the man to lead the Light Blues into the new season, having finally been announced at the end of a long manager saga at Ibrox.
The appointment has been met by a rather mixed reaction, with some supporters not sold on the 39-year-old, who struggled to keep Southampton in the Premier League with his playing style.
Given the size of the club, links with Steven Gerrard, Derek McInnes, and Jose Mourinho were all emerging at Ibrox, but the fans will need to settle with the decision and support the new boss.
