Pedro Caixinha: I have one question about this Rangers player after win v Hamilton
By Abigail Withey
Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha believes that summer signing Declan John has a positive influence on the squad and is helping his team mates move forward.
The 22-year-old joined Rangers on deadline day of the summer transfer window on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.
The left-back has adjusted to life in the Scottish Premiership well but was recently out of action due to a thigh injury.
While predominantly a defender, John proved his goal scoring ability during the club’s recent 4-1 win over Hamilton Academical as he scored the opening two goals for the Light Blues while Daniel Candeias and Graham Dorrans secured the other two.
Now, Caixinha has hailed John for his display but has a “question” about whether he can sustain that form over a full season.

“Declan is a great player who has great characteristics in moving the game forward, positive energy taking us forward,” the Rangers boss told Sky Sports after his side’s win over Hamilton.
“He also scores goals. The question is his rhythm because he hasn’t played more than one season.
“We now have time to take care of him.
“Bruno was very close for the game but we didn’t push him because of the astroturf surface. He needs to report with Portugal on Monday.
“For sure, they will assess him when he arrives there. The way he left, I think it’s totally clear.”
The Glaswegian outfit’s win came after their frustrating 2-0 defeat to rivals Celtic last weekend in the first Old Firm derby of the season.
Their recent victory means that Caixinha’s side moves up to third place in the current standings on 14 points behind Aberdeen and the Hoops, who are currently sat comfortably at the top of the table and unbeaten in the Premiership.
Rangers will next head to Canada to face Portuguese giants Benfica in a friendly, and then Caixinha will prepare his squad ready to head to McDiarmid Park after to face St. Johnstone.
In other Rangers news, Charlie Nicholas believes that Caixinha will be axed by the Gers.
