Caixinha names Rangers pair that are easily good enough for Scotland squad
By Derek Smithson
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha insists that midfield pair Ryan Jack and Graham Dorrans “at least” have the ability to get into the Scotland squad.
There was not a single Ibrox-based player included in the Scotland squad for the recent World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania and Malta, with Gordon Strachan’s side winning both comfortably.
Six Celtic players were included in the national squad and Brendan Rodgers’ team have a strong contingent in the starting XI.
Caixinha believes that Gers duo Jack and Dorrans can force their way into the plans of Strachan, with the belief that they easily have the quality to be in his squad.
Scotland have their last two qualifying group matches in October against Slovakia and Slovenia, where they still have their qualification in their own hands.

“I think our two midfielders, Jack & Dorrans at least have the capability to be in the Scotland squad,” Caixinha said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Both Jack and Dorrans moved to Rangers in the summer as part of Caixinha’s overhaul and have made immediate impacts in the starting line-up.
Jack, 25, has featured in six games so far this season and has impressed fans with his combative approach in the centre of the park.
The central midfielder has also shown real composure in possession and is part of a new-look midfield for the Gers.
He has never represented Scotland at senior level, but will be hoping that his move from Aberdeen to Rangers can help him break into the international stage.
Meanwhile, Dorrans has already played 12 times for Scotland and his last appearances came back in 2015.
The 30-year-old central midfielder has scored two goals in his opening five games for the Gers and is recognised for his goalscoring qualities.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has hailed these two signings following their summer arrivals.
