Callum McGregor reflects on Celtic's two wins over Rangers

By Harvey Byrne

Midfielder Callum McGregor has described Celtic’s two wins over fierce rivals Rangers in the last fortnight as “brilliant.”

The 23-year-old lined up twice against the Gers with the two Glasgow sides meeting at Hampden in a Scottish Cup semi-final tie before meeting in the Premiership six days later at Ibrox.

The two encounters ended up proving highly successful for Celtic as they ran out 2-0 and 5-1 victors against their most fierce rivals and McGregor himself ended up with two goals.

Now five days after their famous victory McGregor has told that to score those goals and earn his side a win against Rangers was “brilliant.”

McGregor has featured in 27 Premiership matches for Celtic this season, scoring four goals and providing six himself.

He has been one of several key men which has ensured that the Hoops have completed 34 league games unbeaten this season under Brendan Rodgers and it is likely he will line-up once more against St. Johnstone on Saturday.

The Glasgow giants will be looking to complete the entire league season without suffering a defeat and they will also have their eyes firmly focused on achieving a domestic treble with a Scottish Cup final clash against Aberdeen scheduled at the end of May.

In other Celtic news, John Guidetti has revealed what he said to the Hoops when they told him to sign a contract at the club.
