Campbell: Arsenal fans 'will be very angry' at Smith Rowe news emerging from Aston Villa
Arsenal would be crazy to sell Emile Smith Rowe to Aston Villa, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is adamant the 20-year-old will be a “top, top, top player” in one or two years time.
Aston Villa are not giving up on their pursuit of the England Under-21 international despite having bids of £25million and £30million rejected by the London club.
It is understood that they are set to return to Arsenal with a bid in excess of £32million for Smith Rowe, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates.
Campbell suggested there would be a big backlash from Gooners if Smith Rowe was sold this summer.
“I do not want them to get Smith Rowe,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “I’m desperate for him to stay.

“Within a year or twos time he is going to be a top, top, top player and for that reason he needs to be at Arsenal.
“Arsenal are trying to say he is not for sale but Villa just keep coming back. They might know something we don’t and that’s what is worrying.
“It would not go down well if he was sold. The Gooner family will be very angry.”
Smith Rowe contributed four goals and eight assists in his 33 appearances across all competitions last season.
He has been capped by England at Under-21 level twice.
