Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Jack Harrison after it was revealed he is the hardest working Leeds United player in training.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed the “amazing” 24-year-old, who is currently enjoying his third loan spell at Elland Road from Manchester City, was “back to his best” against Sheffield United.
Harrison scored in a 2-1 win over the Blades on Saturday, to take his tally for the season to seven goals and five assists in 29 league appearances.
Speaking to the club’s website after the win, Whites captain Liam Cooper revealed “nobody works harder” than Harrison at their Thorp Arch training ground.
Football Insider revealed in December that the club have negotiated permanent terms with Manchester City for a fee in the region of £10million.
Campbell excused the winger’s indifferent form in 2021 and claimed a £10million move this summer would be “cheap”.
“Now that was a bit more like it from Jack Harrison,” he told Football Insider. “I thought he was back to his best.
“Young players are going to have dips in form and that was the case with him, it was nothing to worry about. You have got to work with it.
“That was a lot more like it from him against Sheffield United. It was a great performance from him.
“£10million at the end of the season? Look, that is cheap, cheap money for someone of that talent. He is very productive on that left-hand side.”
