Campbell makes emphatic Nottingham Forest prediction after journalist’s £100m+ reveal

Kevin Campbell is confident Nottingham Forest will stay up if they sign another three “quality” players before the transfer window shuts.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Forest and Arsenal striker suggested Steve Cooper’s side do not have enough strength in depth currently.

On Wednesday (20 July), Nottingham Forest signed Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo from Huddersfield Town.

The duo become the newly-promoted side’s ninth and 10th summer signings.

According to journalist Jacque Talbot (17 July), Forest still want to bring in three or four more players to the City Ground before the window shuts.

It is said that their spending will top the £100million mark.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Forest’s chances of staying up next season, Campbell said: “If you gave me 17th in the league now I would take it.

“After being out of the top flight for such a long time, staying in there allows you to build.

“If they sign another three players that would be great. Steve Cooper knows that he needs quality in the squad. They need a squad of players.

“Cooper has done an incredible job. It will be a tough season at times for Forest though. They’re the type of team that will win games but will also struggle to buy a win at times. They will have to take the rough with the smooth.

“I’m confident they will be alright. My fingers are crossed when I say that though.”

In other news, Nottingham Forest have been told to seal a £35million+ deal for Morgan Gibbs-White and 23-year-old.
