Campbell makes ‘huge’ Celtic claim ahead of Rangers showdown

Kevin Campbell claims Celtic will believe they can win the Scottish Premiership if they beat Rangers this weekend.

The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the Hoops are the form team in Glasgow.

Rangers and Celtic are level in the SPFL table, both with two wins from three games.

Rangers

Celtic are the form team, winning their last six games in all competitions.

The Gers look a shadow of the team that walked to the Premiership title last season and have already lost their unbeaten record.

Celtic were in a similar position last season after almost a decade of dominance.

Campbell claims the Hoops can look to return to their title-winning ways with a win at Ibrox on Sunday.

“Celtic had to respond after last season,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“If nothing else, they had to show the fans that they mean business this season.

“That first game was poor but they have really picked up. They look really good and there is a lot of goals in that team.

“They are on fire but we all know where the big test comes, that’s Rangers.

“If they can win, and it’s winnable, that game they will look around and say ‘right guys, we can do this’.

“Then it’s game on. There are a lot of new players who have never played in that game.

“That will be a huge test and Rangers will come back, it’s going to be a good season in Scotland.”

Celtic

Rangers won last year’s title after Celtic won the previous nine.

Both teams won at the weekend and face big European clashes before next weekend’s derby.
