Campbell makes 'one thing clear' as Arsenal lose out on Buendia to Aston Villa
Arsenal were not willing to match the structure of Aston Villa’s offer for Emiliano Buendia as the player is not seen as a priority signing by the club.
That is the view of former Gunners and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about why the 24-year-old is not heading to north London this summer.
Villa confirmed on Monday that they have reached an agreement with Norwich City for the transfer of Buendia.
As revealed by Football Insider on 6 June, the Argentine attacker midfielder was also a top target of Arsenal who tabled a bid in excess of £30million.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the Gunners missing out on Buendia, Campbell said: “Or did they miss out on him?

“But the fact of the matter is Arsenal were not willing to be as flexible as Villa were and that tells us something.
“This is very early on in the summer and it’s important to remember that. If he was a priority you would pay the little bit extra or structure the deal how Norwich wanted it but clearly Buendia wasn’t the top priority.”
