Kristoffer Ajer would turn down a move to Norwich City this summer in favour of staying at Celtic, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 23-year-old will have “bigger clubs” interested in him than the Canaries this summer.

The Scottish Sun claim Norwich are eyeing summer move for the Norway international now that their promotion to the Premier League has been confirmed.

Ajer will have just 12 months left on his contract at Parkhead at the end of next month and could be available for a knockdown fee in the next transfer window.

However, Campbell claimed the centre-half will “no doubt have many admirers”.

“A move to Norwich could be tempting but he is at a huge club in Celtic,” he told Football Insider.

“Is that a step up? I’m not so sure it is. I do not think he would make that move if it was offered to him in all honesty.

“If he was available this summer other clubs would be interested, bigger clubs. We will have to watch this space and see because he is a great player who will no doubt have many admirers across Europe.”

Ajer has been one of the Hoops’ standout performers this season, and only Callum McGregor (4140) has played more minutes than the centre-back (3723).

Signed from IK Start in January 2017, Ajer has amassed 173 appearances for the Hoops.
