Campbell: There's 'unrest behind the scenes' at West Brom amid surprise Dowling replacement news
Kevin Campbell has claimed there is “unrest behind the scenes” at West Brom following the departure of Luke Dowling.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Albion and Arsenal striker said the club is “unsettled” and urged the hierarchy to “sort things out” off the pitch as soon as possible.
The club confirmed in a statement on 14 June that sporting and technical director Luke Dowling has left The Hawthorns by mutual consent.

The timing of Dowling’s exit comes as a surprise given that he was playing a key role in the club’s new search for a manager.
This site revealed earlier today (15 June) that the club do not plan to replace Dowling and have discussed scrapping the director of football model and instead appointing a “traditional” manager.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Dowling’s exit, Campbell said: “Unfortunately, these things can happen.

“It is the sad part of football. There is often a cull at clubs when things start going badly. It is a shame to see him go.
“I think there has been some unrest behind the scenes. The club is unsettled right now.
“Last season did not work out as hoped and fingers start getting pointed.
“There will be unrest behind the scenes but it will settle itself down once things start to get put into place. The quicker they sort things out off the pitch the better.”
