'Can play anywhere' - Danny Wilson blown away by Rangers teammate

Rangers defender Danny Wilson was left raving about Ross McCrorie’s performance in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen and claimed the 19-year-old ‘can play anywhere’ after starring in midfield against the Dons.

McCrorie was Rangers’ best player against Aberdeen on Wednesday as he slotted in as the base of the Gers’ midfield diamond and put in a mature, composed performance in a surprisingly one-sided win.

The Scotland Under-21 international has been a revelation since making the jump into the first-team following his debut in September against Partick Thistle.

Wilson admitted he thought McCrorie was “terrific” against the Dons but revealed he wasn’t surprised by it at all.

“I enjoy playing with Bruno and I thought Ross was terrific the other night in front of us,” Wilson said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

“I’m not sure what the manager’s plans are for the weekend

“Ross McCrorie can play anywhere, he is a right good footballer.

“I wasn’t surprised he slotted in so well on Wednesday.”

The Gers travel to Pittodrie on Sunday to face Derek McInnes’ side for the second time in four days knowing a win would see them leapfrog Aberdeen into second place in the Scottish Premiership.

Prior to Wednesday’s clash, may Rangers fans feared a possible 12-point deficit to the Dons but are now optimistic that their side can pick up three points at Pittodrie and overtake Aberdeen.

With some difficult fixtures coming this month, back-to-back wins over McInnes’ side would be a huge boost to the Gers ahead of appointing a new manager.
