Carlos Baleba and Dom Solanke react to Yves Bissouma amid Tottenham exit rumours

Yves Bissouma’s latest social media post caught the attention of his past and present teammates as speculation swirls around his future at Tottenham.

The 28-year-old midfielder has failed to hit the expected heights since his £25m move from Brighton in the summer of 2022 [BBC Sport], but has reached a century of appearances for Spurs, nonetheless.

Tottenham fans were extremely critical of Bissouma’s performances in 2024/25, with many wanting the Mali international sold as soon as the summer transfer window opened, and they may still get that wish.

Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Spurs could be ready to cash in on Bissouma, with Everton being mentioned in the race for the midfielder’s signature this summer.

The Lilywhites are unlikely to receive a similar fee to the one they paid for the player three summers ago, but with Thomas Frank now in charge, his fortunes could change under new leadership.

Yves Bissouma enjoys time away from Tottenham

Taking to Instagram (13 June), Bissouma wrote: “It’s God who gives,” as the midfielder enjoys time away from North London following a difficult 2024/25 campaign for the Lilywhites.

The post gained likes from his current teammates Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie, Mathys Tel, and Kevin Danso, as well as his former teammate at Brighton, Carlos Baleba.

Frank to change the atmosphere after Ange Postecoglou’s sacking

Football Insider verdict

Despite Frank’s impressive record with Brentford, the 51-year-old faces an extremely daunting challenge of keeping the current squad together following Daniel Levy’s sacking of Ange Postecoglou.

Having lifted the Europa League title in a very difficult campaign, The Telegraph reported (6 June) that players are outraged by the decision, with some now considering their future at the club.

That will not be an easy problem to fix for the new manager, but his presence in North London could help Tottenham land a key figure in Bryan Mbeumo this summer, which would certainly be a boost.

Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Son Heung-min are all being linked with exits, and if any of that trio are to find new clubs this summer, Frank will need serious backing in the transfer window.

With Spurs now going for Mbeumo’s signature, there is certainly a new tactic for the current summer window, and one that will excite supporters ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Many are still coming to terms with the change of manager, but if the Lilywhites are to be successful next season, Frank needs all the support he can get in North London.
