Jamie Carragher has slated Liverpool midfielder Lucas on Twitter after his dive against Watford, but believes it was a great result for his former side.
The Reds managed to earn a narrow 1-0 away victory at Vicarage Road and that kept their top-four hopes in their hands.
Emre Can produced the vital moment in the game with a memorable bicycle kick in the penalty area to break the deadlock.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet kept his second clean sheet in three games to stop Watford’s attack.
Lucas was at the centre of attention for hitting the ground in the penalty area and was shown a yellow card for simulation by the referee.
Carragher gave special mentions to Can and Mignolet for their positive displays against Watford, but blasted Lucas for his dive.
“Huge three points for Liverpool. Mignolet excellent, Can goal exquisite, Lucas dive s***e!” Carragher wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Diving in the Premier League has become a topical issue over the weekend’s fixtures and Lucas’ attempt to win a penalty was another glowing example of why people are calling for video technology.
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane were both recently slated for winning their respective sides penalties, but the referee was quick to spot Lucas’ attempt for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to come away from the game with the win despite the controversial incident and is looking to return European football to Anfield.
They now know they will be back in the Champions League next season if they win their three remaining fixtures, starting with Southampton at home on Sunday.
In other Liverpool news, the club’s supporters reacted to Divock Origi’s performance against Watford.
