Carragher: This is what Tottenham must do as FA Cup showdown v Chelsea looms
By Will Butcher
Jamie Carragher has urged Tottenham to finally secure a trophy under Mauricio Pochettino and believes it would be a “travesty” if they failed.
Spurs face Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-final, as the north London outfit look to end their drought in the competition that has now stretched to 26 years.
Speaking to Sky Sports 1’s Monday Night Football, former Liverpool defender Carragher claimed Pochettino’s side are too good not to claim any silverware and must win the FA Cup.
“This team is too good not to win things. We have watched them for two or three years and we love watching them. We want to see them do well,” Carragher said.
“They’ve got young English players and for the manager, it would be a travesty in two or three years’ time if this team haven’t won something.

“They have to go and win that FA Cup.”
Pochettino watched from the White Hart Lane dugout on Saturday as Spurs reduced the gap at the summit of the Premier League between themselves and Chelsea to just four points.
Goals from Mousa Dembele, Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen earned Spurs a 4-0 win over Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.
That four-point gap remained the same after Chelsea lost to Man United at Old Trafford by two goals to nil, with six league games still to play.
A handful of pundits believe that Saturday’s semi-final between the two sides could have an instrumental affect on the title race, with Danny Mills claiming mentality could be affected.
Spurs will look for a repeat of their 2-0 win against Chelsea back in January to book their place in the final of the FA Cup, with Arsenal and Man City also looking to lift the trophy.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have been handed a massive injury boost according to a report.
