Celtic 4-0 Dundee: 26-year-old on fire as Hoops march on
By James Black
Celtic eased their way in to the last four of the Scottish League Cup with an easy 4-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park on Wednesday night.
The Hoops started the game sluggishly as Dundee looked to grab an early goal and had captain Scott Brown to thank after his last-ditch intervention stopped AJ Leitch-Smith from opening the scoring.
Brendan Rodgers’ side then took the lead after 25 minutes when Scott Sinclair was brought down in the box before dusting himself off and coolly dispatching the resulting spot-kick.
The opening goal gave the Parkhead side the initiative and before too long James Forrest doubled their lead.
After some excellent work down the left by Kieran Tierney, Forrest times his run into the box to perfection and fired Scott Bain in the Dundee goal.

With just a few minutes left, substitute Callum McGregor made it 3-0 when he picked up Sinclair’s pass and drove the ball low beyond Bain.
The goal weren’t finished there though as 26-year-old Forrest grabbed his second double in two games to put the icing on an easy win.
The win extended Celtic’s fantastic unbeaten domestic run to 56 games ahead of the trip to Ibrox on Saturday to face Rangers in the first Old Firm clash of the season.
Rangers and Hibs join Celtic in tomorrow’s draw with the winner of Aberdeen v Motherwell tomorrow night taking the final place.
