Confusing Celtic transfer mess must not be allowed to rumble on
The continuing saga surrounding Moussa Dembele’s future at Celtic took another twist following the Hoops’ 2-1 win over Partick Thistle.
Outspoken BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton claimed that he had been told that the 21-year-old didn’t want to leave the club and was ‘extremely happy’ in Glasgow – but the signs coming out of Parkhead are very different.
He’s had speculation since he’s been 16 so speculation won’t bother him! He’s never asked to leave so for people to suggest he wants out is very unfair on him and doesn’t reflect fairly on him! I’m told he is and always has been extremely happy at Celtic ???? https://t.co/puPUvM6cN3

This news came after a game in which Dembele was left on the bench for the second game running, not playing a minute of football.
The situation is a bit confusing – why is Brendan Rodgers keeping Dembele on the bench if there is no intention of playing him?
The game against the Jags seemed tailor-made for the French under-21 international, but Rodgers elected to bring on Leigh Griffiths, who scored the game’s winning goal.
The fact that Dembele hasn’t been playing could also lead to the transfer fee the Bhoys are hoping to receive not being as big as it might have been if the player was regularly playing and scoring goals.
The situation must be resolved as soon as possible. If Celtic want to sell Dembele they need to do it in the next 24-48 hours, so they can look for a replacement.
If the player is staying until the end of the season, then get him back into the team, he’s too good to be on the bench.
The Hoops can’t allow this saga to run any longer, it has to be sorted as soon as possible.
In other Celtic news, Leigh Griffiths may have played himself into the position of number one striker
