Rapid Vienna defender Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo has agreed personal terms with Celtic, Football Insider can reveal.
The Scottish giants have offered the left-back, 24, a long-term deal that he has accepted as he closes in on a multi-million pound transfer to Parkhead.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club are increasingly hopeful that a deal can be tied up for the Belgian this week if they can agree a fee with Rapid Vienna.
Talks have been held between the two clubs over the structure of a deal which would further strengthen Celtic’s defence following the £7million signing last week of centre-back Christopher Julien.
The Hoops have also signed versatile youngster Luca Connell, who operate in midfield as well as at left-back, since the end of last season.
The potential signing of Bolingoli-Mbombo further suggests that Celtic expect to lose prize asset Kieran Tierney this summer amid not only strong interest from Arsenal, but also Serie A giants Napoli.
Bolingoli-Mbombo is a proven performer who made 42 appearances for Rapid Vienna last season, including 26 league starts and eight Europa League starts.
The defender can also operate on the left side of midfield and has previously played in Belgium for Club Brugge KV and Sint-Truidense VV.
