Celtic striker Moussa Dembele would like to secure a transfer to Germany or England over a move to France, according to a report.
French news outlet RMC Sport claim on their website that the 21-year-old is not too interested in a move back to France, following a report from Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol that Olympique Marseille had held talks over a potential move.
The striker, who joined the Hoops from Fulham on a free transfer last summer, is said to be more interested with a move south of the border, or even potentially to the Bundesliga, as he lines up the future of his career.
However, it appears that the Celtic star, who hit 32 goals across 49 appearances in all competitions last season, will not be making a return to his country of birth.
He may be missing from Celtic’s squad for their Champions League qualifier tonight (Wednesday), as he missed training as a result of a thigh injury.
Football Insider verdict
News that Dembele is favouring a move to Germany or England will come as little relief to Hoops fans, with the youngster likely to have several potential suitors in both countries. However, supporters can take solace in the fact it does not appear he will be making an immediate move, with Marseille’s interest the only firm link in recent days. If the club could keep him on board for another season, and perhaps even push on in the Champions League, then they may be able to convince him to stay on past the next campaign, but if a giant club come calling, then the French youngster will likely be on his way.
In other Celtic news, this player has confirmed the end of his long stay at the club.
