Emilio Izaguirre has taken to social media to issue a heartfelt goodbye to the Celtic fans after securing his move to Al-Fayha.

The 31-year-old has already confirmed that he has agreed to end his seven-year spell at Parkhead ahead of a move to the Saudi Arabian top-flight.

The Daily Record has reported that the Hoops have pocketed £1.25million for the sale of Izaguirre, who is said to have penned a two-year contract as he looks to secure his place in the Honduras national team at next summer’s World Cup.

Izaguirre had become a fan favourite at Celtic Park for his marauding displays in the left-back position as he lifted six Scottish Premiership titles and made 252 appearances across all competitions.

Now, the full-back has taken to his personal Instagram account to give a special thanks to everyone at Celtic.

Izaguirre has been a mainstay at left-back during most of his spell in Glasgow, but the emergence of Scottish wonderkid Kieran Tierney has seen him slip down the pecking order.

The 93-times Honduras international only played 18 times across all competitions last season under the rule of Brendan Rodgers, although most of them were from the bench or as cover to the injured Tierney.
