Celtic expert verdict on Kyogo Furuhashi joining Tottenham after source’s £25m reveal
Premier League teams will not pay £25million for Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops hit man Frank McAvennie suggested that the only team who would happily take Kyogo is Tottenham after Ange Postecoglou took over but they may not be willing to pay up.
On Wednesday (28 June), Football Insider revealed that the Celts will demand £25m from any club interested in taking the Japan international this summer.
The 28-year-old’s current Parkhead contract runs until 2025 and the club have put a hefty price tag to ward off other clubs and have held early talks with the striker to tie him down to a new deal.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (7 June) that the goalscorer has been attracting interest from Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.
McAvennie insisted clubs down south won’t be willing to meet the Hoops’ hefty valuation of their star man.
“The only team that would take him would be Tottenham because of Ange,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he is a good player but is maybe too sleight for the Premier League.
“I think he has found where he belongs in Scotland. He would score goals in England do not get me wrong but would anyone pay £25m for him? I do not know.“

Kyogo scored 34 goals in 50 appearances for the Celts across all competitions last season.
He also won the Scottish Premiership’s top goalscorer and Scottish Player of the Year awards.
