Celtic continue to hunt for a goalkeeper this summer ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Kasper Schmeichel would retire at the end of the season once his contract expires at the Hoops.

As a result, Viljami Sinisalo is the Hoops’ only other first-team goalkeeper, with reinforcements now clearly needed in this position.

Numerous other keepers have been linked with a move to Parkhead, and The Herald on 25 May has now reported that Go Ahead Eagles’ Jari De Busser is a potential target.

Celtic have tentative interest in the 26-year-old, and could now make a summer swoop.

The report states that De Busser is valued at just £2.5million by Go Ahead Eagles this summer.

This is because the goalkeeper has just one year left on his contract, meaning this is the last transfer window where they could potentially cash in.

Now, Celtic can secure a potential bargain. Despite Go Ahead Eagles’ disappointing 12^th-place finish in the league this season, the goalkeeper still impressed.

He managed to keep nine clean sheets and put in many key performances in the backend of the campaign.

When looking for a replacement for Schmeichel, the Hoops may not find a better option for the price than De Busser, who is clearly capable of making match-defining saves.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Nikolas Polster is also a Celtic target this summer transfer window.

Austrian side Wolfsberger are willing to cash in on the 23-year-old gloveman, who is interested in a move to the Hoops this summer.

Sources have indicated that Polster is hopeful of being able to take a step up in level ahead of next term.

Reports have indicated that he is available for around £1.75m after an impressive 2025-26 campaign, which saw him keep eight clean sheets in 29 Austrian Bundesliga matches.

Wolves are also interested in a potential swoop as they prepare for their upcoming Championship season.

However, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get the deal over the line for either keeper, or if they move on to other targets this summer.
