Rodgers delivers huge Celtic transfer update, confirms new striker could arrive within days

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the Hoops are looking at potential replacements for Moussa Dembele, should he leave Celtic Park this month.
Speaking in a press conference, as quoted by the Daily Record, the former Liverpool boss stated that the need for competition amongst his ranks will force him to buy a replacement,
“If Moussa goes we need to bring in another one. Simple. Players need competition and we need to be competitive,
“If Moussa is in our squad then great. If he is not we’ll see by the end of January.”
The young Frenchman has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Brighton and Hove Albion and Stoke City, however no official bids have come through yet.
It is thought that Celtic value Dembele at £20million, not a bad price considering his 38-goal season last year.
The attraction to be able to play Premier League football is undeniable, but Rodgers insists that the 21-year-old is not being effected by the transfer speculation,
“His behaviour is fine, there is no issue and no dramas. We are here to win games and I’ll pick the team I think is best to do that.”
Dembele has been dropped to the bench for the second consecutive game, and lost his backup role to Leigh Griffithis this past weekend.
