Celtic fans are all saying same thing about Daizen Maeda’s display vs Hibernian
Celtic fans were left impressed by Daizen Maeda’s performance in the Scottish League Cup win over Hibernian.
The Hoops secured their place in the next round with a 3-1 victory, continuing their undefeated start to the season.
Maeda scored a brace in the opening 15 minutes of the game to put Celtic in a commanding position.
Even though Hibernian managed to score before halftime, Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn secured Celtic’s win in the second half as he scored a tap-in after pressure from Maeda.
This game marked Maeda’s first start of the season after making a cameo appearance in Celtic’s previous match against Hibernian in the league last week.
Last season, Maeda scored 10 goals in 36 games across all competitions while providing two assists.
Celtic fans believe Daizen Maeda will provide competition for a starting place
Maeda was replaced in the 72nd minute of the game, but Celtic fans had seen enough from his performance to be impressed.
Despite the signing of Adam Idah from Norwich this summer, Hoops supporters believe that Maeda could have done enough to guarantee himself a starting place moving forward.
