No way on earth he should play v Rangers – Celtic fans fume with one star after shocker v Morton

Celtic strode past Championship side Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup on Saturday but fans are angry at the performance of attacker Scott Sinclair.

He’s been off the pace for the past few months after a brilliant season last campaign.

He’s struggled to hit the same heights this year and was dropped for the two Europa games against Zenit by Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers started him against Morton but he put in such a bad performance he was hooked off at half-time and replaced by Odsonne Edouard.

It still took Celtic until the 62nd minute to carve Morton open, and it was Moussa Demeble who finally broke the deadlock.

Celtic got their second in the 70th minute as Dembele converted a penalty confidently, before Edouard wrapped things up at the death.

Celtic fans have seen enough of Sinclair though and took to Twitter to rage against the attacker, with one fan saying he should be nowhere near the team that plays Rangers next Sunday.

Here are the best reactions from frustrated Celtic fans:

The next game for Celtic is huge – the Old Firm derby at Ibrox next Sunday, with their rivals just six points behind them.

A win for Celtic would really make the Premiership run-in exciting, although it’s a sweat that the Celtic fans would far rather avoid.
